intelli-CTi Chrome Extension Deprecation and Update

What’s happened?

Google recently deprecated mainline support for Manifest V2 Chrome extensions, resulting in our older extension (shipped with v4.2.x of intelli-CTi) now being auto-disabled in Chrome by default.

How does that affect me?

This change could affect customers using v4.2.x of intelli-CTi for Dynamics and intelli-CTi for Infor CRM customers in Chrome, as they both use Chrome extensions that would be affected by this deprecation.

What’s the solution?

Ideally, the preferred solution is to update clients to v4.3 of intell-CTi, as this comes with newer Manifest V3 Chrome  extension(s), which are not affected by Google’s recent deprecation.

We would recommend seeking assistance when upgrading to v4.3, to ensure things go smoothly. Therefore, please contact us (or your Microsoft Dynamics CRM Business Partner/Reseller), in order to can get that arranged.

If you unable to update all your installation to v4.3 at this point – it is possible to get more time by considering one of the follow options.

It is possible for Enterprise customers to specify a policy that will re-enable the Manifest V2 extensions (including ours) until June 2025. This should allow existing clients to re-enable the same Chrome extension and continue functioning until an upgrade to v4.3 can be completed.

Alternatively, you could potentially switch to using our Microsoft Edge extension instead – as that is currently unaffected by this change. However, please note that Microsoft have also announced that they will follow suit with this deprecation at some point in the future. So this option should be considered temporary, until an upgrade to v4.3 can be completed.
